Fincastle riding stable, Harmony Equestrian Center, LLC expanded its programing in 2019 by offering a riding team for first graders through adults that compete in the Athletic Equestrian League (AEL). The AEL promotes teamwork, horsemanship skills, and riding skills in a competitive environment.
Under the direction of Peyton Stevenson (instructor) and Abby Long (barn manager), Harmony continued the team for the 2020/2021 season. The 2020/2021 national championships were held virtually again this year and the results were recently released.
Harmony winners in the Intermediate Division were Reserve Champion Makayla Long and seventh place winner Ashley Wilmer.
In the Mini Division, winners were: Champion Sophia Moretti, Reserve Champion Anna Claire Honeycutt, fourth place Mia Wimmer, and fifth place Lorelai Colvin.
Other divisions team members competed in were: Novice – Leanna Stegar and Mabel Kinsey; Advance Beginner – Rynn Little; Beginner – Natalie Brochero, Lily Borloz, Avarie Kramzar, and Emily Mower.
Harmony Equestrian finished sixth overall in the national competition.
