Claude A. Harris Jr., 79 of Troutville, passed away Friday, May 8, 2020 following a long illness.
Claude was born in Roanoke February 12, 1941 and lived in Botetourt all of his life. He was the son of the late Claude A. and Evelyn Obenshain Harris.
Claude was employed as a carpenter with H&F Interiors for 42 years. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, and yard work. Claude was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Buchanan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his half-brother Lee Harris, and is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce Kessler Harris; son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Amy Harris of Ridgeville, S.C.; daughter and son-in-law Angela and Ralph Hayslett of Troutville; grandchildren, Audrey P. Harris, Aftyn (David) Carey, Eric Hayslett, and Kyle Hayslett; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Nancy Harris of Cloverdale; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jane and Bill Keesee of Apopka, Fla.
Claude’s family would like to acknowledge his very special caregivers, Debbie, Donna, Kristy, Bessy, Keith, and Missy.
A celebration of Claude’s life was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday May 12 at Rader Funeral Home, Daleville with Pastor Doug Mitchell officiating. Burial was in Trinity Cemetery.
