Still need to do some Christmas gift shopping, or perhaps pick out some special items for other gifts? If so, you are in luck this Saturday, Dec. 11.
The annual Historic Fincastle, Inc. Holiday Marketplace will be held Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Fincastle Baptist Church on Rt. 220, featuring gifts and other products from over 40 vendors. It is open to the public with free admission. However, all visitors are requested to bring fresh canned goods to donate in support of the Botetourt Food Pantry.
Shoppers can expect to see beautiful handmade jewelry to suit varied tastes, fused glass items, paintings by talented artists, knitted and crocheted items, various talented woodworkers and wood turners, decorative and functional pottery, wonderful fabric items, Scandinavian Gnomes, chalkware, baked foods, “soap doodles,” handmade stuffed bears and animals, holiday wreaths, and so many more creative items to cover just about everyone’s holiday shopping list.
The first such event was held in the Fincastle Firehouse over 10 years ago with only about 10 vendors for the Marketplace, and it was the start of the wonderful tradition of showcasing the many vintage and more modern homes in and near Fincastle as the Holiday Home Tour & Marketplace event. Because of the ongoing concern about COVID, the Home Tour will not be offered this year. However, it should definitely return next year.
