Have you ever wondered when Lincoln Logs were first found under someone’s Christmas tree, or what did dolls look like in the ’30s or ’40s? Historic Fincastle, Inc. is gathering vintage toys for a display that will premiere the Friday, December 6, at 6 p.m. in the Wysong Building.
This is the night of the Grand Illumination of the Fincastle Tinsel Tree Trail. There will be trees on display at the Wysong Park so visitors may take a brief detour and go through the Blacksmith Shop and see the display of “previously played with” trains, tractors, Lincoln Logs, dolls, Barbies, American Girl Dolls, Santa’s, decorations and table ware. This is a free display.
After this weekend, the toys, etc. will be on display for the rest of December at the Botetourt County Historical Society Museum on East Main Street. (If you would like to include a toy for display, contact Patsy Dickerson at 540-460-4597 before Friday.)
