The Botetourt County Historical Society (BCHS) held its 16th annual Founder’s Day Dinner at Virginia Mountain Vineyards in Fincastle on October 13. BCHS members and friends enjoyed an afternoon of community and learning more about the history of the county.
Dr. Sarah McCartney of the College of William & Mary served as the event’s guest speaker. She made a presentation about Lord Dunmore’s War, the Battle of Point Pleasant, and the role that Botetourt played. This month marks the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Point Pleasant.
