On Sunday, May 19, a dedication ceremony for two Lewis and Clark portrait signs will be held. The signs are located at the courthouse and at the Botetourt County Historical Society Museum. The dedication celebration will take place in front of the Old District Courthouse next to the museum at 4 p.m. There will be a brief program explaining the placement of the signs. Paige Cruz will be the guest speaker. Cruz was the Eastern Legacy Coordinator for the Great Lakes and Ohio River Division, US Army Corps of Engineers during the 2003 Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery Commemoration. She currently serves as the chair of the Eastern Legacy Committee for the Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation After the ceremony refreshments will be served in the museum. Visitors can observe a newly updated Lewis and Clark display. All are welcome to enjoy history being made in Fincastle.
