Homer St. Clair, 84, of Troutville, peacefully went to his heavenly home Thursday, April 29, 2021 at his home.
Homer was born in Troutville on March 7, 1937 and lived in the area all of his life. He was the son of the late James H. and Pauline Haymaker St.Clair.
Homer worked in brick production at Webster Brick and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, his vegetable garden, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and watching Westerns.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Dean St. Clair; siblings, Dorothy St.Clair, Warren St.Clair, Jimmy St.Clair Jr., Paul St.Clair, Eugene St.Clair, Nina Wells, Scofield St.Clair, Hugh St.Clair, Mary St Clair, and Roberta Alexander.
Homer is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Wayne Walters; a niece that was like a daughter to him, Shirley (Tommy) Mills; sons, Billy Neal St.Clair and Tommy (Catherine) Cook; grandchildren, Jessica Motley, Rachel Cook, Reagan Cook, and Remy Cook; great-grandchildren, Logan, Ryder, Jaela, Ky’Marion, Davion, and soon to be born, Nation; sisters, Alice Varelos of Roanoke, and Betty Cash of Troutville; many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service honoring Homer’s life was held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 2 in St.Clair Family Cemetery on Laymantown Road with Pastor Tommy Mills officiating.
