The Buchanan Summer Concert Series, sponsored by Bank of Botetourt, kicks off the season with a live performance featuring Hoppy Vaughn and the Ministers of Soul this Friday evening.
Rhythm, blues, and soul performer Hoppie Vaughan has been igniting and expanding the live music scene in Roanoke since 1996. Hoppie is a native South Carolinian and grew up playing through the club circuit all over the Southeast. His musical style could be described as rhythm and blue-eyed soul. In the last 10 years Hoppie has released six CD projects. The group was voted best local band by City Magazine in 2009 and Hoppie voted best musician Roanoke City Magazine 2012 and 2013.
In addition to the live performance next to Town Hall, there will be a Cruise In featuring antique and classic autos and extended business hours.
