Xavier University led from start to finish and captured the 2019 Big East Women’s Golf Championship last weekend at the Callawassie Island Golf Club in South Carolina. The title is the Musketeers’ first as a member of the Big East, and Lord Botetourt graduate Lyndsey Hunnell is a member of the team.

As the winner of the Big East Championship, Xavier earns an automatic berth to the NCAA Championship. Xavier registered a team score of 298 in the second and third rounds after a 306 in the first round. Georgetown took second place, 14 strokes behind Xavier with a score of 916.
Individually, Hunnell tied for eighth place at 14-over-par 230.
