March 14, 1969 – January 25, 2025
“Angie” passed away at home January 25, 2025 after being ill for the last several years.
Angie was a loyal and faithful friend to numerous folks including some far away that she met on Facebook. She was also a friend and protector to the four-legged kind. Her latest little doggie friend was Templeton. He was never far from her side.
She was born at Radford Community Hospital, Radford. She would soon move to Anchorage, Alaska, with her parents. Dad was completing his military service in the U.S. Army. The family would return to Beckley, W.Va., to reside for a few years, then moving to the Roanoke Valley where the family put down roots for the years to come.
Angie was a graduate of Berean Christian Academy in Salem. During high school and afterwards, she held several types of jobs: a waitress, bank clerk, store clerk, etc. She was a small business owner with her husband, Jack. She was a conscientious and hard worker seeking excellence at whatever task she performed.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Earl (Jack) Jackson; her only and beloved son, Dustin Averill; two stepsons, Stephen Jackson and Chris Jackson; parents, R. David and Anita (Sissy) Smith Wickline; her little sister and brother-in-law, Sabrina Lynn and husband, David Belcher, Sabrina said that Angie was a wonderful sister who always took care of her; “baby little brother 6′ 4” David Michael Wickline; Dustin’s special friend, Ashlei Packer and her children; and very cherished and longtime friend, Theresa Daniels. No doubt many, many more friends too numerous to name; they know who they are. Angie’s Mom said of their relationship, “She was a wonderful sweet daughter and my best friend.” Two grandsons she adorned, Elijah (Eli) Averill and Layne Gibbs; many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, lots of cousins and lots of beloved friends.
Angie was a member of Clearbrook Baptist Church where her Dad pastored some years back. Their Pastor Bryan Ratliff will lead the service at 3 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2025 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home,14920 Lee Highway (US 11 South, I-81, Exit 162), Buchanan. Visiting will be one hour prior to the service. A very special thanks to all for prayers, flowers, and condolences. The family thanks Woodland Church for use of their fellowship hall. Also, a very special thanks to Uncle Joe and Aunt Dianne Ellison for arranging to have a fellowship meal concluding the service.
