Jam on the James during Reggae By The River this Saturday, July 31 from 4:30 until 10 p.m. at the Buchanan Town Park, 485 Lowe Street.

Gates open to the public at 4:30 p.m. with an admission of $10 for adults; children 12 and under, free. Pets, outside coolers or food are not allowed.

Music kicks off at 5 p.m. and continues through 7:30 p.m. with a mix of funk, deep blues, and reggae by the Sol Roots Band.

Music returns to the stage at 8 p.m. with favorite established Roanoke band, Lazy Man Dub Band. Lazy Man brings a Ska roots, rock reggae sound to the stage.

In addition to the great music, food will be available including Carnival burgers and fries and Petros. In addition, there will be ice cream, lemonade, iced coffee, shaved ice, apple cider donuts and adult beverages, including beer and sangria.

Children’s activities include the playground, bubbles, an art wall, and the all-time favorite run through the sprinklers. Additional activities include the opportunity to tie dye your own Festival shirt with the event logo for $15.
