The James River swim team competed against Glenvar in a meet at the Gator Aquatic Center in Roanoke last week. The River boys beat Glenvar, 81-25, but the Highlanders won the girls meet, 102-51.
River’s Luke Martin won the 50 Free event in a time of 24.99, dropping his previous best time. Luke also placed first in the 100 Free, and Dillon Minnix took second in that event.
Kelsi Hammons was third in the girls 100 Breaststroke, dropping five seconds off her previous best. The girls 400 Free Relay team of Megan Cox, Daisy Montgomery, Olivia Murry and Sydney Wilson took a first place and dropped 11 seconds of their previous best in the event.
The Knights are scheduled to swim at the Bedford YMCA on Thursday night of this week against Staunton River.
Lord Botetourt was scheduled to swim at Hollins University Monday night against William Byrd and William Fleming, but no results were reported. The Cavaliers will be at Alleghany next Monday, Dec. 18.
