The James River Baseball Program will have a special recognition and presentation for former standout Caleb Dorton on Tuesday, April 30, prior to the start of the home game against Glenvar in Springwood.
A 2008 graduate and four-year varsity starter, Caleb was the State Group A Player of the Year in 2008, the first James River baseball player to achieve that distinction. He helped lead the team to the state semifinals that year. The team won both the district regular season championship and district tournament championship during each of his four years on the varsity. Dorton’s career pitching record was 30-4, and he was also an outstanding hitter.
All varsity baseball teammates and coaches who were on the team with Caleb are invited back for this presentation, and will be admitted free of charge.
