Jeri Leigh (Jerry Lee) St. Clair, 69, of Troutville, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022 at Carrington Place following a brief illness.
Jeri was born in Roanoke on February 14, 1953 and lived in the area most of his life. He was the son of the late David Lee and Dorothy Lee Secrist St. Clair.
Jeri served in The United States Army and retired with the rank of Sergeant First Class after 22-1/2 years. He served two and half combat tours in Vietnam, receiving three bronze stars for meritorious service and heroic service. Following his career with the Army, he worked for the US Postal Service. Jeri enjoyed animals, genealogy, had a brown belt in Tae Kwan Do, and was an avid fan of Walton’s Mountain spending much time there.
In addition to his parents, Jeri was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Arryn St. Clair.
He is survived by his children, Michelle St. Clair Malone (John Roberts), Jerry Jr. (Teri), Todd, and David St. Clair (Jaysin); grandchildren, Samantha Malone, Sidney Malone (Candice), Ethan St. Clair (Kendra), and Cameron St. Clair (Katie); great-grandchildren, Kaleb Malone, Kynsley’Skyy St. Clair, Karlee Malone, Kyleigh’Reign; one sister, Shirley Mills (Tommy); special friends, Nancy St. Clair, Nita Insley, Pamela Bryant, and Cathy Miller.
A celebration of Jeri’s life was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 26 at Rader Funeral Home, Daleville with Pastors Tommy Mills and Terry Hall officiating. Burial with full military honors was in St. Clair Family Cemetery. The family received friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
