Bonsack United Methodist Church serves as administrator for the Blanche C. Davis Memorial Scholarship. Mrs. Davis lived and taught in Botetourt County for many years. While a teacher, she encouraged her students to achieve academic excellence, and impressed upon them the value of having good moral character. This scholarship, established by Mr. and Mrs. Davis a number of years ago, is to be awarded to a graduating senior(s) from a Botetourt County high school.
A $2,500 scholarship was awarded to Kelsey Williamson, a recent graduate of James River High School. She will be attending Virginia Western Community College this fall.
A $2,500 scholarship was also awarded to Ethan Webster, a recent graduate of Lord Botetourt High School, who will be attending Virginia Military Institute this fall.
