Natural Bridge State Park is hosting a series of nighttime programs this summer to raise awareness about the importance of dark skies for people, plants and animals. Programs will cover topics like the biology of nocturnal animals, astronomy, and more.
On July 6 at 8:30 p.m., join a ranger-led hike to learn about some of the creatures that call the park home, especially those that have adapted to live in the dark. Cost is $5 per family.
On July 16 at 8 p.m., join Center of Gravity Yoga Studio for a moonlit guided yoga session on Jefferson Point, one of the best views of the lower Shenandoah Valley. Cost is $10 per participant. Call to reserve a spot for the program at (540) 291-1330.
On July 20 at 8:30 p.m., enjoy a short ranger-led hike to Jefferson Point for an evening of stargazing. Cost is $5 per family.
Every day this summer, visit the park to enjoy the natural wonder of the bridge and step back in time at the Monacan Exhibit, located past the bridge on Cedar Creek Trail.
Payment for programs can be made in advance at the Visitor Center. There is no additional fee if you have already paid admission for the park. For more information about events and programs at the park, check online at www.dcr.virginia.gov/state-parks/ or call the park at (540) 291-1330.
