Staff Report
Claire Kivior has joined the staff of The Herald as an intern for the fall semester.
Kivior, of Richmond, is currently entering her senior year of undergraduate study at Roanoke College where she is seeking a degree in both communication studies and political science, with a minor in Spanish.
In 2018, she spent time studying abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina. One day Kivior plans to return and teach English as a volunteer. Post-graduation, Kivior plans to pursue a career in journalism or lobbying, which coincides with her passions of public policy and activism.
In her free time, Kivior enjoys painting, photography, hiking, keeping up with fashion trends, and spending time with her sisterhood.
Kivior said that she is looking forward to working with paper, and becoming an active member of her new community.
“Claire is a bright young lady. She didn’t hesitate to jump in headfirst on her first day with us,” Aila Boyd, editor of The Herald, said. “She brings with her a unique perspective and a passion for storytelling.”
