The Botetourt Kiwanis Club met on June 7 at Bellacino’s. Among the topics discussed was the upcoming Scholarship Golf Tournament, scheduled for September 30. The club is looking for teams ($360 per foursome) and hole sponsors ($100). Businesses and individuals who are interested should contact Club President Ed Lynch at elynch@hollins.edu. All proceeds from the tournament will go toward the club’s scholarship fund. Each year, the Botetourt Kiwanis Club provides college scholarships to Botetourt students, based on their need and their academic success.
The club also continues with its weekly business recognition. This week, the Restaurant of the Week is Maw and Paw’s Diner in Eagle Rock. The Business of the Week is the Downhome Pharmacy in Cloverdale.
The next meeting of the Kiwanis Club will be on Monday, June 21, at 7 p.m. at Bellacino’s.
