Three members of the James River High boys basketball team were honored as All-District in a meeting of the coaches last week. All three are underclassmen.
Patrick Clevenger and Jayson Easton were both named to the All-Three Rivers first team. Clevenger averaged 17.9 points and 8.9 rebounds per game while shooting 49 percent from the field. Patrick was All-District second team a year ago.
Easton averaged 16.5 points and 6.6 boards after transferring to River from Alleghany, where he earned first team All-District and All-Region honors as a sophomore during the 2019-20 season. Jayson shot 45 percent from the field and a blistering 94 percent from the line for River during the recently completed season.
Sophomore Heath Andrews was a second team selection from River after averaging 5.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists and a steal and a half per game, leading the team is assists and steals. Andrews was also recognized as an outstanding defensive player.
