The James River High volleyball team had a terrific season, finishing 22-9 with a Region 2C championship and a trip to the state semifinals. This week the Virginia High School League Class 2 All-State team was released and the representation by the Knights reflects their outstanding season.
River had two girls named to the first team. Senior Brea Anduiza was named as a “Player” and senior Konner Myers is the All-State libero. Ava Thacker, another senior, was named to the second team.
Those three girls were also named first team All-Region 2C along with Caitlin Canada, who is also a senior, and senior Jadyn Miller is a second team All-Region choice. River also took home some special honors as Anduiza was named Region 2C Player of the Year, Myers is the Region Libero of the Year and second year coach Linsey Firebaugh was named the Region Coach of the Year.
Myers was also named Libero of the Year in the Three Rivers District. She was named to the All-District first team along with Anduiza and Canada while Thacker and Miller made the All-3RD second team.
