Weather permitting, 16-hour lane closures will be in place this weekend as part of the paving and milling project on I-81 in Botetourt County between mile marker 149 and 152.
The extended weekend lane closures will be as follows:
- I-81 northbound from mile marker 150 to 151.5 will have a right lane closure in place from 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 19 until the following morning at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 20.
- I-81 northbound from mile marker 150 to 151.5 will have a right lane closure in place from 6 p.m. Saturday, May 20 until the following morning at 10 a.m., Sunday, May 21.
Work in this area is being performed Sunday through Thursday from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. with alternating lane closures.
The on-ramp to I-81 north from US 220 may be closed periodically between midnight and 5 a.m. during this project.
Drivers should use caution in the work zone and watch message boards. Expect delays in the area.
