Due to an extended period of rain in the forecast Tuesday’s Blue Ridge District golf mini-match has been postponed until next Monday, September 23. The match is at the Botetourt Golf & Swim Club and will be a nine-hole match.
The match, to be hosted by Lord Botetourt, is the final round of the six-round district tournament and the Cavaliers have an insurmountable lead. Botetourt’s 72-hole total of 1,207 is 85 strokes better than second place Franklin County and Botetourt has won all five rounds thus far. Also, LB’s Alisa Davidova is the individual leader by a healthy margin.
“Our golfers have been playing well all season and haven’t paid much attention to the district scores,” said coach Todd Smith. “Each one just wants to beat their previous score. The goal is always to be playing your best at the end of the season, so hopefully we can keep getting better.”
