The Lord Botetourt boys were 14th and the girls were 24th out of 53 schools in the state Class 3 track meet last week. The meet was held at Liberty University on Friday with the Western Albemarle boys and Heritage girls winning team titles.
The top eight finishers in each event scored points and the top six in each event were deemed “All-State.” Lord Botetourt had five All-State performances on a hot day in Lynchburg.
For the boys, Dylan Knick took fifth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.96 and sixth in the 300 hurdles at 42.96. Jeremiah Emmons-Mayo was sixth in the 110 Hurdles at 16.07.
Jacob Hodnett took a fifth place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.06. Seventh places went to Bryson Cook in the 800 at 2:04.39 and Sam Francis in the discus with a toss of 130’ 9.”
For the girls, Sydney Vokus was sixth in the 3200 meters at 11:53.03 and Maddie Malue was eighth in the 110 hurdles at 17.09.
LB scored in two relay races. The 4×800 team was seventh in 10:28.64 with Lauren Duff, Brielle Jackson, Katie Cross and Brooklyn Hornback and the 4×400 team of Duff, Jackson, Sofia Hernandez and Hornback finished eighth in 4:25.32.
