The Lord Botetourt boys will have to wait awhile to get their first soccer win. After opening the season with two losses the Cavaliers won’t play again until after spring break, when they host Christiansburg on Wednesday, April 3.
Botetourt took on two strong Salem area teams to open the season. Last Tuesday they traveled to Glenvar to take on the defending Class 2 state champs and dropped a 3-0 decision in a hard fought match.
The Cavaliers’ next game was last Friday when they hosted Salem for their home opener. Again, the Cavs failed to hit the net as they dropped a 5-0 game to the visiting Spartans. The game was just 2-0 until Salem put it away with three goals in the final 10 minutes.
“The boys fought hard and we missed some good opportunities on goal,” said coach Taylor Leonard.
