The Lord Botetourt girls evened their soccer record at 1-1 with a 4-1 win over Salem at Spartan Field in Salem Monday. Botetourt used a big second half to pull out the win.
This game was tied at 1-1 at the half. Salem drew first blood but Autumn Estrada tied the game on a goal assisted by Emma Rice and that’s how it stood at intermission.
The Botetourt girls took the lead 15 minutes into the second half. Rice hit a corner kick that Ella Fletcher turned into a goal for a 2-1 lead. Then Bria Harvey scored off a Fletcher assist to make it 3-1, and Rice put some icing on the cake with a goal assisted by Harvey.
The Cavaliers were scheduled to travel to Jefferson Forest on Tuesday for their last game before spring break. They’ll return to action on April 5 with a home game against Blacksburg.
