The Lord Botetourt girls saw their soccer season come to an end with a loss to Cave Spring in the quarterfinal round of the Region 3D tournament last Friday. The girls dropped a 4-0 decision at Bogle Field in Roanoke County.
Botetourt opened the tournament with a play-in game against Bassett last Wednesday and shut out the Bengals, 8-0, in Daleville. Kendall Nixon, Bria Harvey and Katherine Woodward had two goals each and Nixon and Woodward also had two assists.
That put the girls in the quarterfinal round on Friday against the top-seeded Knights. Cave Spring improved to 17-0 with the win and LB finished at 8-8-3.
“Very proud of all the girls for all their effort over the whole season,” said LB coach Giuseppe D’Arpa. “Wish the senior class the best in all their endeavors and look forward to see what the future has in store for them.”
