The Lord Botetourt girls defeated Hidden Valley, 3-1, in their Region 3D soccer opener in Daleville last Thursday. The Cavaliers were scheduled to return to the pitch on Tuesday of this week with a semifinal game at Abingdon.
LB’s Bria Harvey opened the scoring last week with an assist from Autumn Estrada. Emma Rice then scored two more goals to put it away, one unassisted and the other off a dime from Ella Fletcher.
With the win the Cavaliers improved to 14-5 on the season, and Tuesday’s game at Abingdon was for a spot in the state Class 3 tournament. The region championship will be Friday at the site of the highest remaining seed.
