The Lord Botetourt girls are 3-2 as they take a week off for spring break. Botetourt dropped an 8-3 game to Christiansburg in Daleville last Wednesday before taking off for two full weeks.
Bry Orange started in the circle for LB but fell into some trouble in the second inning. Grace Thomas was brought in to pitch in relief and the Cavaliers weren’t able to catch up.
Riley Shupe led the LB offense with two hits in four at bats in the leadoff position. Maya Mougin and Jackson Kemper each drove in one run.
“We showed discipline at the plate, having five walks, but we could not get the hits going,” said Botetourt coach Megan Cook. “This was a disappointing loss for us but I am hopeful we will be able to bounce back having seen some good competition.”
The Cavaliers will return to action with a rematch against the Blue Demons on Wednesday, April 3, only this one will be in Christiansburg.
