The Lord Botetourt swimmers will have their first home meet on Thursday of this week when they host multiple teams at the Botetourt Family YMCA. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm.
Last week the girls swam against Franklin County at the Franklin County YMCA and had some good times. Layne Jones won the 200 Free and 100 Back and anchored the winning 400 Free Relay team with Ella Johnston, Sarah Fredrickson and Olivia Nicely. Jones, Fredrickson Nicely and Anna Harris took a second in the 200 Medley Relay.
Individually, Fredrickson took a second in the 100 Back and a third in the 200 Free, swimming in a high school meet for the first time. Other third places went to Johnston in the 50 Free, Harris in the 100 Breast and Nicely in the 100 Fly.
For the men, freshman Max Mizuba swam in his first high school meet and took second in the 100 Back and third in the 100 Free.
The Cavaliers were scheduled to swim against Jefferson Forest at the Bedford YMCA on Tuesday but results were too late for publication.
