Endorses Campbell for School Board seat
Editor:
I write to recommend Brandy Campbell for the Buchanan District on the Botetourt County School Board. A growing number of parents and grandparents in the county have been attending School Board meetings trying to improve the quality of children’s education and protect them from the horrible programs being recommended by the Virginia Board of Education. Those programs include Critical Race Theory, the 1776 Project, a highly controversial transgender program, etc. Most of the board members and the superintendent have been evasive, to say the least. They’ve assured us that the racial programs won’t be taught in Botetourt, but other sources indicate that they are embedded in the curriculum.
After many frustrating meetings, two county residents have volunteered to run for the two board seats up for election in November. In the Buchanan District that person is Brandy Campbell. Brandy currently has children in Botetourt schools and some who have graduated. I know her to be a devoted mom, hard-working, honest, active in women’s ministry at Fincastle Baptist Church, and a woman of integrity.
Her reason for seeking a seat on the School Board is to be a true representative of the parents and residents. She wants to work for the protection of our children, not to please the state Board of Education or to go along with radical racist programs. She wants to hear from parents, while the current School Board has been evasive and on one occasion demanded that the parents and other citizens be removed from the meeting.
Because she is entering the race so late she is running as a write-in candidate. If you want a Buchanan School Board representative who will be responsive to parents and who will work to improve the quality of our children’s education, please write-in Brandy Campbell for School Board Member – Buchanan District.
