Editor:
The Fourth of July fireworks display was held on August 31 this year instead of July 4 because of a heavy rain storm. The fireworks will not go off if they are wet. We can’t do anything about the weather.
The Town of Fincastle wishes to thank those who donated to the purchase of the fireworks. Those who donated are Geraldine Baker, Leah Sullender, Helen Morris, Tony and Gracie Hart, Hi and Beverly Nicely, David and Cindy St.Clair, Dunn and Garrison, Bob and Linda Meadows, Geiger Foundation, Mitch and Bobbi Bowman, Robert Haymaker, Tuesday Morning Club, Scott and Susan Critzer, Gilbert and Sharon Armar, Angela Coon, Peggy Davis, Jimmy and Chris Layman, Toby and Nancy Wells, APX Industrial Service, Pam Wiegandt, The Bank of Fincastle, Karen Wills, Kip and Lynn Burton, Paul and Terry Tucker, Bob and Julie Patterson, Joan and John Booth, Delbert and Lee Dudding, Ed and Barbara Stevens, Thomas and Chris Hearn, and those who give a donation on Fourth of July and on August 31.
We want to thank those who work so hard to put off the fireworks. They were Willie Simmons, Brenda Simmons, Darrel Hix, Kevin Hix, Dalton Simmons, Jarrod Hix, Becca Hix, Dawson Hix, Bill Divers, and Marshall Leitch.
We want to thank Willie Simmons for all the years that he has been the purchaser of the fireworks and organizer of putting of the fireworks. We will especially miss you, Willie.
We always want to give a great thanks to The Fincastle Herald for all the articles in the papers. Thank you again for the help.
