Thanks for honoring Native American Heritage Month
Preservation Botetourt, Inc. (PBI) would like to thank the Botetourt County Library/Fincastle and our guest lecturers for partnering with us to bring educational programs to the community in honor of Native American Heritage Month.
Victoria Ferguson provided insightful information on Native American communities in and around Botetourt, both cultural and historical.
Rebecca Boone shared details of her book describing medicinal aspects of many of the local plants Native Americans were familiar with.
Barry St. Clair shared his collection of artifacts and their history.
Our appreciation goes out to all those who attended and supported our efforts to bring to light the remarkable lives of Botetourt’s first inhabitants and to educate the public with regard to the historic significance of Native American sites in the county. We hope you will continue partnering with us as PBI offers future opportunities for education on and promotion of local historic sites.
