The Liberty University Flames, a 16-point underdog, upset the Virginia Tech football team in Blacksburg last Saturday, 38-35. The back-and-forth game went down to the wire with Liberty kicker Alex Barbir kicking a career long field goal of 51 yards to break a 35-35 tie with one second remaining. Here Barbir (#95) celebrates after the kick. Tech’s Kaleb Smith (left) hauls in a pass despite tight coverage. The Hokies are back home this week to host Miami at noon while undefeated Liberty will host Western Carolina, also at noon, in Lynchburg. The Flames moved up to No. 22 in the Associated Press poll this week with the win. The University of Virginia had its game with Louisville postponed last week. The Wahoos will host the Cardinals this Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
