Understanding Medicare & Social Security

Learn how to navigate the complex world of Medicare and Social Security, plus how to find financial assistance for basic life needs.

 

T-Rex Tea Party

Do you have better table manners than a dinosaur? Join a T-Rex to learn dinner etiquette at this special tea. Recommended for ages 4-8.

 

Acting Out

Every Thursday, March 2-30, Buchanan Library

Teens can explore acting using a variety of characters and techniques in this workshop series with Pete Burris, veteran actor from plays, movies, and TV shows like Stranger Things, American Rust, and Dopesick. Recommended for ages 11-14. Space is limited; call 540-928-3005 to register.

 

Ag Day

Sat, March 25, 10am-2pm, Eagle Rock Library

Celebrate local agriculture with activities for all ages! Touch a tractor, learn about honeybees, and enjoy presentations about dairy, local agricultural groups, gardening with heirloom seeds, STEM in agriculture, and so much more. Hydroponics session 11am-12pm. Rain Barrel Workshop from 12-1:30pm (registration required). Call 540-928-2800 with questions or to register for the Rain Barrel workshop.

 

Computer Basics

Mondays 11am-1pm, Eagle Rock Library

Tuesdays 1-3pm, Blue Ridge Library

Get step-by-step instructions in basic computer skills. Join any class in the series, or take all four. 1) Getting Started, 2) Text, Files and Printing, 3) Word Processing, 4) Internet and Email. Space is limited; call 540-928-2900 to register.

 

“All the Feels” Reading Challenge

March 1-31

Log into the library’s Beanstack app for this monthly challenge! Learn about the history of emojis, the importance of emotions, and fun activities to express yourself fully. Get fun badges for logging your reading, completing activities and submitting book reviews!
