Summer Reading Challenge
May 13 – June 30
Calling kids age 0-12 to “Dive into Reading” with our ocean-themed challenge! Earn brag tags and prizes by reading books of your choice, and participate in fun activities and events all summer long. Pick up your paper log at any of our library branches and/or track reading online at botetourtva.beanstack.org.
Dive Into Reading Kickoff
Fri, May 17, 6-8pm, Buchanan Elementary School
Enjoy a wet/dry slide, bubbles, face painting, obstacle courses, battleship water pong, crafts, and other games and activities. Bring a towel; you might get wet! Concessions available, with community partners and vendors onsite. Stay after sunset to watch the movie “Moana” with Botetourt County Parks & Recreation.
Make Your Own Keychain
Sat, May 11, 10am-2pm (drop-in), Buchanan
Enjoy a story about a shark and seahorse, then create a shark or seahorse keychain to decorate your backpack.
