Spooky Storytelling in the Park

Sat, Oct 19, 5-8pm, Troutville Town Park (or Botetourt Family YMCA if raining)

Bring the whole family for an evening of spooktacular stories and fun! Start out with games and crafts for kids, followed by family-friendly storytellers Joelle Shenk (5:30pm), Clint Atwood (6:15pm) and Megan Hicks (7:15pm – scarier stories, let younger kids stay at your own risk!). Meet local organizations and grab some cocoa. BYO chairs and blankets if you’re not crazy about cold bleachers.

 

Sensory StoryTime

Wednesdays 6pm, Fincastle

Enjoy books, songs and tactile activities that build literacy, motor, and social skills – especially designed for children with special needs. Best for preschoolers.

 

Fairy Tales StoryTime

Fri, Oct 4, 3pm, Blue Ridge

Wed, Oct 16, 2:30pm, Eagle Rock

Kids will enjoy songs, sign language, and hands-on activities around the story of “Goldilocks and the Three Bears.”

 

Yoga for Beginners

Mon, Oct 7, 10:30am, Buchanan

Yoga instructor Kathy Austin guides attendees through gentle yoga stretches. This program is offered in partnership with Botetourt County Parks & Recreation. Mats and yoga blocks provided or bring your own. Class size is limited, call 540-928-3005 to register.

 

Painting Workshop: Seasons of the Gnome
