Lloyd Preston Trail Sr. departed this life on March 9, 2021 in Port Orange, Fla.
He was born near Buchanan on October 4, 1936. He graduated from Buchanan High School in 1957 where he was an all star basketball player and high jump champion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Leonard and Stella Bowman Trail; a brother, Donald Trail; his wife of 49 years, Karean Lockard Trail; and a granddaughter, Brooke East.
He is survived by his sons, Lloyd Preston Trail Jr. and Mark Allen Trail of Princeton, W.Va.; his daughters, Dawn Rae East (Gary) of South Daytona Beach, Fla.; and Lori Ann Stack (Dennis) of Port Orange, Fla. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Charlee, Amanda, Lindsey and Preston, and six great-grandchildren.
Included in his list of survivors are two brothers, Kenneth Trail of Roanoke, and David Trail (Leslie) of Troutville; his three sisters, Pat Chadwick (Charles) of Charlottesville, Judith Reed of Daleville, and Sandra Wyrick (Alan) of Buchanan.
A private service will be held at a later date in Port Orange, Fla.
