William Henry “Billy” Long, Jr., 64, of Fincastle, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke.
He was born March 15, 1958 in Clifton Forge to the late William Henry Long, Sr. and Doris Mae Painter Long Nicely. He was a retired delivery driver for the United Parcel Service. He was a member of Fincastle Baptist Church and the Teamsters Union. He loved hunting, drag racing and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, William Bradley Long and Wesley Brandon Long.
He is survived by a son, Andrew Long and wife, Amber, of Fincastle; a daughter, Meagan Johnson and husband, Blake, of Roanoke; a sister, Pamela Lipes of Buena Vista; a brother, Christopher Long of Iron Gate; three grandchildren, Isaiah Long, Novah Long and Hadley Johnson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 6 p.m. in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with the Rev.l Gene Ayers officiating.
