The Botetourt Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) held its fourth annual Women In The Outdoors (WITO) Event Saturday, June 17 at Blue Ridge Vineyard in Eagle Rock. Fifty women took part in the event that included the opportunity to shoot .22 rifles, .22 pistols, shotguns, AR .223 rifles and archery. The day included lunch that was provided with the assistance from the Buchanan Moose Lodge with Marty Rickman cooking hot dogs and hamburgers. Participants gathered for a group photo at the beginning of the event. Longbeards member Hazel Bowers did paintings of common wildflowers for the group during lunch while member Richard Pauley told about each one.
