National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) spokesperson Brenda Valentine was a guest at the Botetourt Longbeards Chapter NWTF Women in the Outdoors (WITO) event Saturday at Blue Ridge Vineyards in Eagle Rock. It was the Longbeards’ annual shooting event for women and included stations for shotgun, .22 rifle, .22 pistol, archery and .223 AR rifle. Valentine encouraged the participants to enjoy the shooting sports and hunting, and to value those and other American traditions. The ladies gathered for a group photograph before heading out for the day’s activities. The Buchanan Moose Lodge helped with the event by cooking lunch for the ladies.
