On Friday, Feb. 2, Lord Botetourt High School FFA members ventured over to The Glebe to play Bingo with several of the residents. The two weeks leading up to this event, the members collected donations for the prizes to be given out to the residents who participated.
“Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve,” the FFA motto tells members to do, learn, earn and serve. Going by this the chapter members have chosen to serve the residents of The Glebe who have at one point served the community themselves.
This is one of the many community service projects the chapter participates in and it is thoroughly enjoyed by the residents as well as the members of the chapter, chapter member Linsey Baker said.
“They had such interesting stories to tell,” says Aviana Wilson, a freshman at LBHS.
“This is my second year going, it’s great to serve those who spent so many years serving their community,” stated Faith Settle, a LBHS sophomore.
After playing bingo, the chapter members headed back to the school for a night of pizza and a movie.
