The Lord Botetourt tennis teams battled through cold weather but had a good week on the courts nonetheless. Both the girls and boys went 3-0 last week in the final matches before spring break.
The girls beat William Byrd, 7-2, then shut out William Fleming and Staunton River, 9-0 each.
“We won all three matches in a big way,” said coach Kimberely Tyson. “The girls played great.”
The boys beat the same schools, starting with a 9-0 win over Byrd. The Cavaliers beat William Fleming, 7-2, then finished off the week with a 9-0 win over Staunton River on a cold and windy day.
“It was miserable, but we squeezed in the match before it got too bad,” said boys coach Peter Walton.
Both teams return to action next Tuesday against Rockbridge, with the boys at Hollins University and the girls at Rockbridge.
