

The Cregger Indoor Fieldhouse was the site of the Region 3D high school track meet on Saturday and Lord Botetourt has some outstanding performances.
On the boys’ side, the LB 4×800 meter relay team placed third and broke the school record in a time of 8:47.90. The team consisted of John Moughrabi, Lucas Carswell, Eric Duncan and Ethan Thorne.
In the 55 hurdles, Caleb Miller was second and Triston Graves took third. Graves was fifth in the 300 meters while Duncan and Thorne finished second and third in the 1,000 meters. The 4×200 team was third.
For the girls, Jillian Harris and Ratie Jensen were second and fifth in the 55 hurdles. Harris also placed fifth in the long jump and Jensen was sixth in the high jump.
Abigail Perkey took third place in the shot put. Karleigh Brown was sixth in the pole vault and Morgan Wilmer was seventh in the 300 meters.
Abingdon High won team championships in both the boys and girls meets. The Class 3 and 4 state meets will be held at Liberty University in Lynchburg on March 3 and 4.
