Retired Lt. Col. Travis Nathan George, 47, of Castle Rock, Colo., was called to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 24, 2021.
He was born in Roanoke on July 31, 1974, the son of the late Howard and Christine George. He was a loving husband and best friend to Stacy. He was the best father to Jackson and Samantha. Travis was a loyal brother and friend to Nicole and brother-in-law, Craig Andersen; and to Ashley and brother-in-law Christopher Theimer. He was a loving uncle to Brieona, Leah, and Nathan Andersen and Isaac and Jocelyn Theimer.
Travis had many friends, to whom he shared his life. Travis served his Lord, his family, and his country. He was a special man. One who was motivated to do his best. One who made a point to make others feel important. One who went out of his way to do for others. Travis was a man of honor and integrity. After graduating from Virginia Military Institute in 1996, he faithfully served 20 years in the United States Air Force before choosing to retire to spend more time with his beautiful family. We are going to miss our hero. Trav was the best.
A funeral service for Travis will be held Saturday, November 13, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at New Covenant Church, 77 Perry Park Avenue, Larkspur, Colo.
The family would love for you to donate to the Wounded Warrior Foundation in lieu of flowers. Travis and his family have supported this foundation for many years.
