Lucille “Lucy” Palmer, 91, of Troutville, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John David Palmer; three brothers, Junior, Sam and Lewis; an almost sister, Annis; and a best friend, Lupe Adams.
Lucy loved country music and the work that goes on with the promotion of it. Lucy worked for Country Shindig Promotions for many years and spent years helping many of the artists, offering advice and mothering some of them, including hosting many artists at her home for cornbread and beans.
Lucy is survived by her children, Vicki Smith and husband, Billy, and Tim Palmer; a brother, Ray Mabry and wife, Pat; and a great number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 23, at Oakey’s North Chapel. Interment was in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family received friends from 12 noon until the service time at the funeral home.
