Malcolm Wayne “Punk” Broughman, 73, of Buchanan, passed away Monday, July 19, 2021.
Wayne or Punk served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam era; retired as a dispatcher for Norfolk Southern Railroad with over 40 years service; he loved sports especially golf, baseball and the New York Yankees; and enjoyed the beach, working on old classic cars and showing and going to antique car shows. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles C (Rusty) and Lillian Smith Broughman; and great-granddaughter, Kyler.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Kay Montgomery Broughman; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Melissa Broughman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Darlene Broughman and Greg and Katie Broughman; special sister and spouse, Lori and Tommy East; granddaughter and spouse, Tiffany and Brandon Holbert; great-grandchildren, Camden, Trinity, and Teagan; numerous nieces and nephews, Charles, Valerie, Shane, Karlyn, Anna, Eliza, Jacob, Susan, Gregg, Paige, Amy, Shara, Scott, and Stephanie; in-laws, Sylvia (Willard) Flora, Phyllis (Warren) Wertz, John (Carolyn) Montgomery, Dickie (Joyce) Montgomery, and Vicky (Tommy) Wheeler; special friends , Randy and Phyllis “PeeWee” Kingery.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, in the Virginia Presbyterian Church (Pico) with Pastor Dave Mucha officiating.
