With the expiration of the State of Emergency and Executive Orders issued by the governor and the expiration of the current Public Health Order issued by the State Health Commissioner, Botetourt County Public Schools has announced the following amendment to its most recent Health Plan:

  • Unless new executive orders or state mandates require otherwise, the masking requirement set forth for all students, staff, and visitors while indoors in instructional settings will be lifted for the start of the 2021-2022 school year. Though not required, it is the recommendation of Botetourt County Schools administration that all students PK-12 that have not been fully vaccinated wear a mask while indoors.
  • Keeping with the current federal mandate regarding public transportation, masks are still required while accessing any Botetourt County Schools transportation service, regardless of vaccination status.

The administration will continue to monitor the COVID situation and will make necessary or required adjustments to the Health Plan during the 2021-2022 school year.
