Lord Botetourt senior Tyler Meade was set to play in the Region 3D tennis singles final as the paper went to press Tuesday. Meade was scheduled to play at 11 a.m. at Virginia Tech.
Tyler won his first two matches in the region tournament with a 7-6 (9-7), 6-2 win over Cave Spring’s number one and a 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 win over Abingdon’s top singles player. He was scheduled to meet Lucas Beasley of Christiansburg in the championship Tuesday, with the winner advancing to state play.
