A public notice is advertised in this week’s edition about upcoming meeting dates scheduled by the Botetourt County Board of Equalization to hear resident complaints regarding the recent property reassessments.
The notice states that the board will meet on nine different dates “for the purpose of hearing complaints of inequalities, errors, or that the real property is assessed at more than fair market value.” From there, the board will consider to increase, decrease, or affirm such assessments.
Residents may pose their objections to the board by appointment only, scheduled every 30 minutes to minimize wait times. To appear before the Board of Equalization, call 540-613-3026. Meetings will be held in Room 229 at the County Administration Center in Daleville.
