The 18th Annual Music Recital of Mike Lee’s students will be held at The Attic Productions Theatre in Fincastle on Sunday, October 29 at 2 p.m. This used to be considered a marathon but is now just a sprint at three hours or so. About 30 students will be performing this year.
“Some may say this event is old fashioned, but honoring God and Country at the beginning of the recital is important,” Lee said, adding that he treats his students like future stars and they could be. David Austin was once a student and, from recital conception, guides the students on stage and to the microphone.
John Lawson will be the guest speaker this year and will be joined by his daughter Grace with a special song. There is even a bluegrass group among the performers this year.
“Come and enjoy an afternoon of music and fun,” Lee said. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.
